Communicating with the Spirit World

When our friends and loved ones die, grief is inevitable. It is part of being human, and getting through grief is a process. From my own experiences, I know it can often be a long and arduous process, and we are never completely the same after the loss. What many people don’t realize is that our loved ones are really not that far away at all. They remain with us on our journey and can see everything we do, and everything we go through during our earthly life.

I have spent the last thirty years learning about life after death, about life in the spiritual realm, the various ways we can communicate with those who have passed, about signs and messages from the other side, spirit guides, angels and the paranormal. I can tell you this. Life definitely exists beyond this one, and communication is possible.

People ask me about mediums. I work with one, and I have several friends who are mediums. These are gifted and trained people who are able to bring through amazing messages from the other side. Our relatives are always eager to connect with us through a medium. In my own work, I work with medium/paranormal investigator Joe Giaquinto who has been assisting me with my book projects for many years. Although the focus of my books is to teach local history, the books are also quite spiritual. During our investigations, Joe and I have communicated with spirits through the use of EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomena) and “ghost” box recordings. The work we do is safe, positive and spiritual, and we have even connected with those from our historical past.

But what about me, you may be thinking? How can I communicate with my loved ones? Be open to signs. Those in spirit send us signs all the time but we are often too busy to notice. Some loved ones send pennies or dimes. Do you find them in unusual places? Others send butterflies and cardinals to us. Sometimes it is a scent. Your grandmother’s perfume. The smell of cigar smoke. An apple pie baking. Music is another means of communication. You may be thinking of your loved one and their favorite song comes on the radio, or a song you may have had together. When was the last time you took a look at photos you have taken with a camera? Have you ever seen an orb in your photo? These are all signs that our loved ones are near, so be on the lookout.

It is difficult not having those we love in physical form. If you can picture them being in another room, a room you are not occupying at the moment, it may make things easier for you by making you feel like they are not that far away, because in truth, they really aren’t and you will be together again.
